Tamzhing Lhakhang was founded by Terton (Treasure Revealer) Pema Lingpa in the beginning of 16th century. The armory in the temple, also cast by Terton Pema Lingpa, is an evidence of the saints legendary skill as a black smith. In this temple, there is unusual statue of the Guru with his gaze focused upward. People carry the chain made by Pema Lingpa, and circumbulate the monastery to purify them from the sin.
